The Tao

The Tao is a tool or frame work to take a long look at how you take your steps in this world. It is not something set in stone but rather a starting point so that you can find how you will flow with the Tao in your life, now the rub is that we are each in our own flow but they flow into one great flow. Do you want to gently blend into that greater flow or enter it and disrupt all other flows?

To crash into the the universal Tao will unbalance your inner peace, clashes with circumstances you can not change will become overbearing but if you can just flow the circumstances will change as the Tao changes and all conflicts will become balanced.

To flow into the Tao with ease will give you perceptive, balance and the ability to see the most difficult things as just a rock in the river to flow around and gain momentum on your journey.

Sometimes non-action requires action and sometimes action requires non-action. In order to understand stillness you must know motion and in order to understand motion you must understand stillness. When the mind is still you can then take proper action, when the mind is in motion you will miss the path of least resistance. To be in the Tao you are stillness in motion.

So be your best whatever that best happens to be at the moment and be mindful of the Tao and your flow into it.

The essence of ability

The essence of someones ability is not that they are able to channel or project more energy than someone else, that you have more of connection to divine source or power. The ability to let this power flow comes from you ability to quiet the mind and get out of the way for the natural process of the body mind connection to proceed without the clutter of all you have been taught that separated you from the world and universe around you.

Get your ego out of the way get your mind to be still and then you must do the hardest thing ever, accept that these magical, divine or miraculous event are completely normal in everyday life. For to long we are taught that the manifestation of the divine, magic or miraculous is something out of the ordinary and only for special people under special circumstances. You must remove the phrase "I don't believe it" or "I can't believe it" this will only further enslave you to being blind to what you have been seeking.

Do not concider you are on this planet but you are part of this planet interconnected to it in each and every aspect once you can feel and conceive this then you will be part of a greater power extending beyong this little blue pebble in the sea of the mystical universe.

Do your best take your time and believe in the journey.

Self Advocacy

There is a point in time when you make a choice not to be taken advantage of or discounted. You stop being an accessory or appendage and no longer live in the shadow of those persons/families priorities.

Your view point and your choices have value and are valid, right or wrong they are yours. You can’t spend your time living for someone else’s life being there to enable any behavior that is not mutually beneficial or personally positive. There is a point when you must value the best asset you have and that is you. You are the only person who can make the right decisions to live a happy productive valued life with positive impact on a personal level that when you lay your head down at night you feel like a job well done that day.

Learn the word “NO”, it will not make you a bad person it is not a bad word it is just a word like “YES”. We tend to put negative value on “NO” for no reason other than when it is said to you ego gets upset and you feel as if you are a bad person. Why? all perception, if someone saw you walking out a door that lead to a 40 foot drop you would not feel bad about the telling you no because it benefited you. But there is the perception when you use no for yourself to keep you from doing something you don’t want to do for another person or family you take their perception and live out their bruised ego and it makes you feel bad. You must look at saying no as you giving your self a warning not to open that door and drop 40 feet. It really has no power that you do not give it. Don’t substituted “YES” for “NO” then you really start to skew you perception of right and wrong in your life choices.  No matter how much you say yes in a certain way or tone the people hearing will only hear yes not that you wanted the yes to be taken as no.

Advocate for yourself as you would for anyone one who is in dire need of help and is not being heard. Be your own champion and understand that being strong does not mean you are selfish but you are strong enough to know your limits, strengths and faults. Speak clearly and say what you mean, use your perspective don’t try to introduce the perspective of those you are going to be speaking to because you can’t and never will be able to know their perception of your actions or words. If you invest in the outcome then you have already lost. The only person in this world you will ever be able to heal or change is yourself no matter how much love you poor into relationships or situations until you are honest with yourself nothing will ever change for you.

Making Room For The Experience

To make room to accept and understand gifts you must find balance in your own body we can only hold a certain amount of energy in our bodythere is fresh energy and spent energy. The spent energy is the one you must guard against and move out to make room for new fresh energy.

When you have spent energy that is not moved out
,
you will develop a clouded and stagnant interpretation of the world and other energies around you because of it and if left to stagnate
,
the energy will soon take over the fresh energy that will soon take much work to move.

Many have encountered a situation where they are in the presence of someone of exceptional gifts or knowledge
,
yet are unable to fully benefit from this encounter or experience. Why? Because if you have no room in you to be filled by this new energy or knowledge
,
you can only observe it but never fully experience it as it is meant to be. By moving this spent energy you now make room to be filled with the new experience in other words empty the cup so it might be filled.

Finding the balance of just how much to empty is what you discover from meditative practices. You can never be too empty because you must have your own essence to interpret the new energy or experience.

What others think of me might be my business sometimes

Playing around with “what other people think of me is none of my business,” nice concept if taken in the right perspective. If people think of you in a bad light with no substantial reason then it is correct you should not care and it should not be of concern to you because opinions are projections of self and how someone sees the world and wants to be seen in it. Many times and this is the sad part those opinions are those they gather from peers they wish to be accepted by.

If those close to you that matter to you and love you see you in a bad light you might just take a second look at your behavior or actions, but again it is also a projection of them and how they see the world, of course if you are going out committing crimes, hurting yourself or others those opinions come from a place of concern also.

When people think of you highly or praise you remember it is their projection of how they see the world and want to be seen. It is a great compliment for someone to want to be seen as they see you. Always be on guard for the ego in these situations, remember it is about them more than it is about you, so in a sense these opinions should not matter much either.

So in conclusion having self worth or value when placed on the criteria of others is a path to failure, having self worth and value on your own criteria is a path that brings many rewards. Always evaluate yourself on your journey and seek counsel from those you respect and see as you would like to be seen.

Mastering

In anything you wish to master you must understand the following concept:

The teacher can opens the door, but you must take the step to walk the road and do the work road.

A teacher can guide you or suggest an avenue to explore but you have to rely on your own intelligence and hard work.

All of the students are given the same tools in a good school; the use of those tools is up to the students own want or need to learn the full range of their use.

A teacher can not make you a master only you can do that.

A good teacher will not expect to be your teacher for a life time but to become a friend a peer at some point.

I Fully Love Myself When:

"I fully love myself when", My friend Alison shared this simple yet powerful phrase with me just the other day, I tried it an quickly found my self giggling at each thing I ended the phrase with, giving myself permission not to take my successes or set backs so seriously.

Have you even been embarrassed and felt like you wanted to shrink away? Next time try “I fully love myself when (I embarrass myself), (I squirt milk out of my nose), (I forget someone’s name)”, I had a great opportunity to do this and felt relief and also a smile came to my face denoting it was just a normal part of living.

It is useful for positive things in our life. If you have trouble accepting praise or acknowledgement or even acknowledging yourself try using the phrase “I fully love myself when (I learn a new song), (my hard work is acknowledged), (I finished a project).”

Give it a go, but maybe not out loud at first unless the people around you know you well, strangers might want to help you find your medication.

Reflection

Share/Save/Bookmark

Essential part of anyone life is time to self reflection and rejuevination. Most people consider this as vacation time. This process of self reflection and rejuvenation should be practiced everyday. Prayer, mediditation, mindfullness actions, artistic hobbies. something that brings you back to self and apart from the world, without these you will always be trying to keep your head above water so to say. Five minuetes of meditation a day will change you mind, spirit and body.

Calm Present Mind/Spirit

Share/Save/Bookmark
Most people talk about working to be enlightened like it is a far off place, a journey and by doing this putting it out far in front of where you are at the moment.

Some people talk about altering their state of consciousness to reach enlightenment. If you are not in the moment you are already in an altered state of mind, you need to be in a calm present mind/spirit.

Some study with some great guru to reach enlightenment. Following someones example who is able to sustain the calm present mind/spirit for a greater time than you can at the moment is great, but seeing them as a guru rather than just a human with a little more experience does you no good as you will not see yourself at that level.

Enlightenment is no more or less than being in the present moment experiencing all things as they are, your reaction to those things is the key. Approaching the pleasant and unpleasant with a calm mind/spirit.

People are already enlightened they must not allow either the world noises or their own to keep them from being in the moment. We learn that altered state of mind/spirit, confusion, worry, depression, chatter in our mind is normal and that being of a calm mind/spirit is something out of the ordinary.

While is is simple we do live in a toxic environment that causes us to not be able to see the simplicity of this action due to conditioning to accept the abnormal as normal.

Do not practice anything to calm your mind instead just do the practice you choose be it meditation, tai chi, prayer etc. make it something normal to your daily life.

Evaluate yourself, reactions, responses to things around you on a given day or week. If you are constantly talking about your practice then you are not doing it because once it become part of you it is like breathing, not something you go on and on about.

When someone brings to your attention that you are far off from your goal of your peaceful mind/spirit it is not a bad thing it is a great thing because those around you have noticed how calm and peaceful you are as a normal daily thing and when you are not that way then see it as strange. This in a great opportunity to deepen your own understanding of you.

Be gentle with yourself and treat yourself with kindness.
