What others think of me might be my business sometimes

Playing around with “what other people think of me is none of my business,” nice concept if taken in the right perspective. If people think of you in a bad light with no substantial reason then it is correct you should not care and it should not be of concern to you because opinions are projections of self and how someone sees the world and wants to be seen in it. Many times and this is the sad part those opinions are those they gather from peers they wish to be accepted by.

If those close to you that matter to you and love you see you in a bad light you might just take a second look at your behavior or actions, but again it is also a projection of them and how they see the world, of course if you are going out committing crimes, hurting yourself or others those opinions come from a place of concern also.

When people think of you highly or praise you remember it is their projection of how they see the world and want to be seen. It is a great compliment for someone to want to be seen as they see you. Always be on guard for the ego in these situations, remember it is about them more than it is about you, so in a sense these opinions should not matter much either.

So in conclusion having self worth or value when placed on the criteria of others is a path to failure, having self worth and value on your own criteria is a path that brings many rewards. Always evaluate yourself on your journey and seek counsel from those you respect and see as you would like to be seen.
