New World Expo (Holistic Living Expo) June 10, 2012

Not sure if the Holistic Living Expo also referred to as HLE is changing its name to New World Expo but both banners could be seen this weekend in Fresno California. No longer at the Ramada Inn on HWY41 and Shaw its new home became the Piccadilly Inn at Shaw and Van Ness in Fresno Ca.  What prompted the move? Ramada raised it fees and to avoid passing them on to exhibitors a new location was booked.
The change in venue was evident from the moment you walked in to the much smaller space. Many familiar faces did not come to this HLE event leaving a huge unbalance in readers to vendor with the majority to the latter. Some of the participants included Clairvoyant Jackie Harris who provided readings, Reiki, and also had a full both of incense and burners and other wonderful product for sale.   Darren Smith of Komong Dragon showed up with his impressive collection of stone work from Asia, and as always our beloved Sandy Deveau with her Auric Photos.
There was a real lack of traffic at the event. It seems not enough time was spent advertising not only the event but also the change in venue; many may have shown up at the Ramada only to be disappointed. The lecture room was across from the HLE venue and was much better than the one at the Ramada. The venue itself was more polished and newer than Ramada’s old and wore conference rooms, and in that there was a bit of a win.
One thing that many of us have found to be interesting is the lack of local metaphysical representatives from the Fresno County, except for Mrs. Harris you will be hard pressed to find local vendors or practitioners at any Fresno HLE event.  Price might be an issue but there has to be more going on than that I would think. In Fresno it seems that the metaphysical community is not linked together and for the most part tries to keep what they do from the main stream.
The next Fresno New World Expo (Holistic Living Expo) will be November 4, 2012.  We hope to see you there.
