Health Corrective or Preventative

In the West we have long considered that we can run our body down then just go in and get it fixed by our advanced medical system.  For the most part we treat our bodies in the west like a car.  Once it breaks down we take it to the mechanic in hopes that it can be repaired and we can afford to have it fixed.
In the East the body is like a garden that needs to be tended to daily; weeds pulled, nourished, and maintained.  They strive to accomplish this by using holistic practices which include herbs, meditation, and body/energy work like Chi Gung Yoga or T’ai Chi Ch’uan.
Unification of the maintenance of the body has to be complete.  We cannot do meditation work without body work and we cannot do body work without meditation.  The mind and body need nutrition, exercise, and energy practice like Chi Gung Yoga and T’ai Chi Ch’uan.
Body, mind, and spirit have to strive for harmony in order to cultivate your garden, now there will be weeding to be done, planting, and landscaping but in all it is worth a healthy garden.
One rule for success is HALT.
Never Be too Hungry
Never Be too Angry
Never Be too Lonely
Never Be too Tired
